FAQ for ATA QBMV Series Medium Voltage Variable Frequency Drive

Is external braking resistor required for high-inertia load quick stop?

plus-1minus-1

No. Built-in over-excitation braking enables rapid braking without braking resistor, restrains bus voltage surge and avoids overvoltage trip during deceleration.

Can one QBMV VFD switch between V/F, sensorless vector and closed-loop vector control for different production lines?

plus-1minus-1

Yes, three control modes are optional via parameter setting. V/F for general pumps, sensorless vector for low-speed mixers/conveyors without encoder, closed-loop vector for high-precision heavy-duty processes.

Is Modbus communication available to connect QBMV to central PLC/HMI for factory centralized monitoring?

plus-1minus-1

Yes, standard Modbus protocol is equipped. Hot-swappable communication expansion cards support quick on-site upgrade without equipment power-off.
